Nobody Looks At My Bio So Here It Is

November 7th, 2018

Here's what it says:

I took one art class and have no formal training. I began this art activity in the year 1998 when I began to travel, mostly for other work purposes. I managed to go through every longitude line on the globe and have been above the Arctic Circle too.

My artistic style varies quite a bit but most of it can be consider photo art. All my photo work shown is original or has been digitally modified from my original photos unless otherwise stated. I hold the copyright for the same. Recently I have been experimenting in the abstract realms of digital painting and acrylic painting.

My work is duplicated on three sites: tim-richards.pixels.com, fineartamerica.com/profiles/tim-richards.html, and pixels.com/profiles/tim-richards.html. You can also check out my work and favorite art on http://www.pinterest.com/ETransformation, i.e. my collection of art: 'ad ven tures in art'. If you are a professional interior designer or art dealer, you may purchase my work on designerprints.com.

Keep in mind that a purchased item will not include the 'Fine Art America' watermark. Your printed image will be clear and devoid of imperfections such as haloing and chromatic aberration and will of course be printed at a much higher resolution as shown on your monitor. Also, keep in mind that any image you purchase will be printed on a textured material (even metal prints and glossy paper have a specific sheen!). That is why you do not see evidence of print material on the image as presented on this site. Just need a sheen, try the metallic print. If you simply wish a little texture, try the textured paper. For heavy texturing, go for the canvas. There is plenty of advice on the web if you are uncertain what substrate to choose. You should check out the Variations Gallery to see if there other versions of an image you are interested in, as I often make several versions.

As of 11/7/18 590 (or 64%) of my images have been featured in FAA groups. A featured image is an image favorably selected by an FAA group administrator and appears on the group home page.

Have posted a number of political images recently

November 7th, 2018

I have recently posted a number of political images recently. You can see them in the Social Critique collection on my main page.

Here is the core of my comments:

The current state of American politics is one of turbulence, frustration and tempestuous fate. I am concerned over recent events in the nation's capital which pose a threat to the American legal system and which could lead to a form of tyranny if not countered by the American voter.

Is it possible we could begin to lose our democracy in the next few years? That depends on whether the people of the United States of America stop being played for fools by the political establishment, while in the meantime the forces of totalitarianism steadily creep into our laws and into the partisan mindsets of our elected representatives. They have created a political career system that fosters fierce competition instead of cooperation and which excludes all other political parties. It has become a club of ambition, greed and power which serves only the members of the club instead of serving American citizens.

Sadly many congressional politicians are not stepping up to the challenge the USA is facing. They have put partisan politics above patriotism--shameful! Indeed some American politicians seem purposefully complacent in their implied belief that there is no threat from certain foreign powers. And to actively collaborate with adversarial nations is both stupid and dangerous.

Secondly, there has been a trend in American politics to increase the centralization of power in the single person of the President--as if this office is not powerful enough. This is no more than nostalgia for historical European autocracy. If you want a king and you are too irresponsible to participate in a democracy, then you don't deserve democracy.

The American flag is not only a symbol of a culture, it is a symbol of a government of the rule of law and the Constitution, not of some misguided knee-jerk reaction of sentimental "traditionalists", or cultural elitists, who want to turn back the clock, do not understand the American government or history and are only informed by a longing for a fabulous past that never was.

Democracy depends upon citizen participation. Without it, it will die.
