Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

A heavily retouched view of the upper left corner of Newspaper Rock, an ancient pueblo petroglyph found near the entrance to Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA. Before I go further, although I took the picture of Newspaper Rock, credit for the art must go to an anonymous pueblo artist or artists.

No one knows exactly who made them but most probably they were pueblo people living 1500 to 2000 years ago. The more recent Navaho call Newpaper Rock, The Rock That Tells A Story. I have not yet found a published interpretation of the petroglyph. However, some objects are familiar: In the lower left we can see a mounted person with bow apparently chasing the animals. This is a little problematic. Since horses were extinct in North America until the Spanish reintroduced them, what is he riding? The animals appear to be mountain sheep and deer/elk. The paw prints appear to be human and animal. Some of the paws have more than five digits. The top right objects appear to be...
